Bryan Fischer Of the AFA: Gay Sex Should Be Against The Law

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association says gay sex should be as criminal an act as injecting drugs is.  (h/t Right Wing Watch). He usually won’t come out and say, “Gay sex should be illegal.” When I’ve interviewed him, his answer is usually, “The penalty should be what the penalty is for drug use.” Of course, we know that there is a penalty for drug use, making it illegal.

Reading what Fischer says, you would think this position is borne out of love for gays.

Homosexual sex should be just as against the law as injection drug use is. They represent the two leading modes of transmission for HIV/AIDS, and our policy toward one should be the same as our policy toward the other.

So let’s say we are going to formally and legally penalize such dangerous behavior. This is something we should do out of simple compassion in order to protect future victims.

Fischer goes on to say that the penalty for unprotected gay sex should be what porn actors say they should be, and cites Derrick Burts, who contracted HIV and wants to make condom use mandatory on the set of adult films. Fischer reasons that, therefore, there should a penalty for unprotected gay sex; and since you can never know if a condom will break, he adds that there should be a penalty for all gay sex.

Now I see no reason why we should stop here. After all, if unprotected gay sex is the problem, then the problem is gay sex. Ultimately we need to get to appropriate sanctions for the act itself. After all, condoms break or don’t get used at all in the heat of the moment. But beginning with sanctions for unprotected gay sex is a place to start.

After all, look at the trouble Julian Assange is in for engaging in unprotected heterosexual sex. Now we all know that discrimination is bad, as homosexual activists remind us through their constant bleating. So out of our commitment not to discriminate against heterosexuals such as Mr. Assange, we should be prepared to see homosexuals get in the same kind of trouble. It’s only fair.

What a champion of equal rights!
