John Boehner Says He’ll Fly Commercial As Speaker, Ignoring Why Pelosi Doesn’t

Acting as a real man of the people, likely House Speaker-t0-be John Boehner says he’ll fly commercially when he attains that post. It’s a backhanded slap at Nancy Pelosi, who’s been criticized for using an Air Force jet to fly home to her district. But Pelosi did what her predecessor, Denny Hastert, did, not because of personal preference, but because of security concerns after 9/11.

In fact, it was not Pelosi who asked for a larger or different jet, it was the House Sargent-at-Arms Bill Livingood (love that name).

Livingood said the request was his, and he made it for security reasons.

“The fact that Speaker Pelosi lives in California compelled me to request an aircraft that is capable of making non-stop flights for security purposes, unless such an aircraft is unavailable,” Livingood, who has been at his post for 11 years, said in a written statement.

Boehner is playing politics, and may well find himself on a private plane should he be made Speaker.  Will the right-wing media go crazy claiming Boehner “demanded” a bigger plane as it did with Pelosi?
