NY GOP Gov. Candidate Paladino Names Panel. Those Named Don’t Know Of It, And Wouldn’t Serve

New York’s Republican nominee for governor, Carl Paladino (the distributor of racist, sexually graphic emails), named four members of a “blue-ribbon-tax-cut team.”  The problem is that those named were unaware of it, and those who commented said they wouldn’t serve even if they were.

Two of the men Paladino identified as team members, CNBC business-show host Larry Kudlow and former state Comptroller Ned Regan, said they had never even spoken to the candidate and knew nothing about the panel.

Regan said he wouldn’t serve while Kudlow laughed uncontrollably when asked if he would.

Kudlow cracked up for several seconds after learning of Paladino’s “announcement” from The Post and then said, “I don’t know Mr. Paladino. I don’t know what to say.”

Another “appointee,” Erie County Executive Chris Collins, referred to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, an Orthodox Jew, as the anti-Christ, which Paladino defended at the time saying, “If I could ever describe a person who would fit the bill of an anti-Christ or a Hitler, this guy [Silver] is it.” Economist David Malpass, who lost in the GOP primary to run against U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, was the fourth person named.
