Gingrich: Obama Has A “Kenyan, Anti-Colonial” Worldview

Newt Gingrich is full of praise for Dinesh D’Souza’s Forbes article, in which D’Souza (pictured) refers to President Obama as “the most antibusiness president in a generation, perhaps in America history.” Gingrich tells the National Review he believes D’Souza has made “a stunning insight” into the president’s behavior.

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” Gingrich tells us.

D’Souza makes a tortured argument that President Obama is an anti-colonialist like his father, whose legacy he is trying to preserve, and ties just about everything Obama does to this false paradigm.

Obama Sr.’s hatred of the colonial system becomes Obama Jr.’s hatred; his botched attempt to set the world right defines his son’s objective. Through a kind of sacramental rite at the family tomb, the father’s struggle becomes the son’s birthright.

D’Souza uses that concept to try to explain how Obama sees the world.

Obama supports the Ground Zero mosque because to him 9/11 is the event that unleashed the American bogey and pushed us into Iraq and Afghanistan. He views some of the Muslims who are fighting against America abroad as resisters of U.S. imperialism. Certainly that is the way the Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi portrayed himself at his trial. Obama’s perception of him as an anticolonial resister would explain why he gave tacit approval for this murderer of hundreds of Americans to be released from captivity.
