Senator David Vitter of Louisiana has decided that he is in favor or pursuing lawsuits to see if President Obama was actually born in the United States. During a Q and A at a tea party event, Vitter was asked about the president’s failure to provide birth certificate.

“I personally don’t have standing to bring litigation in court,” Vitter said. “But I support conservative legal organizations and others who would bring that to court. I think that is the valid and most possibly effective grounds to do it.”

Not-so-coincidentally, Vitter just found out that he is facing a last-minute primary challenge in his campaign for reelection.
