The “Woodstock” Of Tea Parties Planned For 9/11

I don’t think it means anyone will drop acid or that Janis Joplin or Jimi Hendrix will be reincarnated.  There will likely be no tie-died shirts or love-making in the grass, but tea partiers are claiming the Woodstock analogy for a September 11 event at the Monona County Fairgrounds in Onawa in western Iowa.

Craig Halverson of Griswold, who is helping to organize the event, said supporters hope to attract at least 1,000 people from Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and other states. He said they are inviting prominent conservative speakers and plan to have bands perform patriotic music.

The event will have a “Take back our country” theme, Halverson said.

Hey, for those of us who were around for the real Woodstock, how cool does that sound?
