The Best Way To Fight Terrorism: Law Enforcement

David Neiwert at C&L drives home the point that what really works in combating terrorism is law enforcement. What quickly resulted in the arrest of Faisal Shahzad was “nifty police work.”

The next time you hear some right-winger (most notably Dick Cheney) sneer at the Obama administration’s “law enforcement approach to terrorism,” remember this.

So far, little is known about Shahzad.

A neighbour at Mr Shahzad’s former home in Shelton, Connecticut, told local newspapers that he and his wife had lived at the house for about three years before moving out last year.

Mr Shahzad left around May, and his wife followed about a month later, said the neighbour, Brenda Thurman.

The couple kept mostly to themselves while they lived there, she said. They had two young children, a girl and a boy.
