Arizona Governor Signs Bill That Gives Law Enforcement Right To Stop Anyone Who Doesn’t Look Right

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed a bill that will allow enforcement officers to stop anyone in Arizona and demand documentation proving their legal presence in the U.S.  This is the toughest anti-immigrant bill in the country, and will likely incur lawsuits that will cost Arizona taxpayers millions of dollars.

Immigrants will be required to carry alien registration  documents at all time that would prove their legal status. So what happens when someone is stopped who is here legally and has no papers available?

“Respect for the rule of law means respect for every law,” said Brewer, a Republican. “People across America are watching Arizona.”

How about respect for the Constitution? Expect legal challenges.
