Kucinich Flips To “Yes” On Health Care Bill

Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, who just last week told me he would vote “no” on the health care bill because it does not contain a public option, now says he’ll vote “yes.”  Kucinich said last week he had not been lobbied by the president, but that changed this week.  The former Cleveland mayor and presidential candidate says the president did a good sales job.

“I take this vote with the utmost seriousness,” Kucinich said. “My criticism of the legislation has been well reported. … I have doubts about the bill. This is not the bill I wanted to support.”

“I carried the banner for universal health care” in presidential elections, Kucinich said.

And he’ll be a grudging yes vote on final passage in the House later this week.
