In similar fashion to an earlier story, it has come to my attention that a fellow blogger and “Twitterer” recently encountered an extreme level of hatred and abuse when she ran across the Twitter account TonyPagano51. In addition to referring to President Obama and others with a slew of slanderous terms, this person mocked and laughed at Keith Olbermann’s dedication to his dying father, then wished death upon the man: “Die Bitch, Die, H”.

Constitutional free speech laws protect public speech to a point (yes, there are limitations), however Twitter is a privately held company and thereby not bound by the constraints of the First Amendment.  A growing number of conscientious folks have been reporting this account’s activities to the Twitter abuse team, yet he continues to harass Laffy (From The Political Carnival) and others.  Please help me in imploring Twitter to take appropriate action because threats of death and violence shouldn’t be deemed acceptable from anyone, regardless of political ideology, or otherwise.
