Pentagon Shooter Believed Government Is Taking Away Our Freedoms; Was 9/11 “Truther”

John Patrick Bedell, who died after shooting two police officers at the Pentagon Metro station Thursday night, was angry at government for perceived infringement on privacy, and believed the government was behind 9/11.

A blog connected to him via the social networking site LinkedIn outlines a growing distrust of the federal government. The blog suggests a criminal enterprise run out of the government could have staged the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

There are indications Bedell also had a beef with the military.

In an Internet posting, a user named JPatrickBedell wrote he was determined to see justice for the 1991 death of a Marine in California. The death was ruled a suicide but has long been the source of coverup theories. The writer said the case would be a step toward revealing the truth behind 9/11.

The user also railed against enforcement of marijuana laws.

A Wikipedia post that appears to have been taken down, but which appears on mediaelites, gives a fuller account:

Someone with the user name “JPatrickBedell” made it clear in a 2007 post on Wikipedia that he was determined to find out the “truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions” and see that justice was served in the death of Colonel James Sabow. Sabow was a Marine Corps officer many believe was beaten to death in the backyard of his residence on the El Toro Marine Corps Air Base then shot in the head to make it seem as though he’d committed suicide. Conspiracy theorists believe Sabow’s death was an assassination.
