Rep. Pete Hoekstra Cashes In On Failed Terrorist Attack

Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra (right), who immediately attacked the Obama administration when the foiled attack on Flight 253 occurred, is using the terrorist threat to raise money for his gubernatorial campaign.  His fundraising letter on the heels of the attempted attack on Americans is a shameless attempt to cash in.

It is insulting that The Obama administration would make such a claim, but then again, these are the same weak-kneed liberals who have recently tried to bring Guantanamo Bay terrorists right here to Michigan!

My promise to you, as your governor, my first duty and most solemn responsibility is to keep Michigan safe!

Hoekstra then asks for donations, after which he accuses President Obama of “undermining” the military:

Since President Obama took office, he and his left-wing cronies have taken steps to undermine the work of our brave men and women who work tirelessly to keep us safe.

As governor of Michigan, Hoekstra pledges to protect our country from the terrorists.  Are they going to hurt us with Hoekstra in the Michigan statehouse?

Not on my watch!

Barack Obama’s policies may impress the “Blame America First” crowd at home and his thousands of fans overseas, but they sure don’t do anything to protect our families in Michigan or the rest of America.

Fellow Republican Rick Snyder (right), a venture capitalist who is challenging Hoekstra for the Republican nomination for governor says this displays bad judgment.

“In these troubling times, words can’t describe how sad it is to see an attempt to politically capitalize on a failed terrorist attack just three days after it happened.

“Unfortunately, Congressman Hoekstra’s Washington style of politics isn’t the answer to our lack of leadership in Lansing.”

And let’s not forget that Hoekstra, while accusing the White House of not doing enough, saying we need to put in place more forward-leaning technology, voted against TSA funding, containing “more than $4 billion for ‘screening operations,’ including $1.1 billion in funding for explosives detection systems, including $778 million for buying and installing the systems.”
