Idaho Republican Candidate For Gov. Jokes About “Hunting” Obama

Rex Rammell (right), a former elk rancher who is challenging Idaho’s governor, C. L. “Butch” Otter in next May’s GOP primary, said he was only kidding when he said he’d buy a license to hunt President Obama during a rally in Twin Falls.

Talk at the meeting turned to the state’s planned wolf hunt, for which hunters must purchase an $11.50 wolf tag. When an audience member shouted a question about “Obama tags,” Rammell responded, “The Obama tags? We’d buy some of those.”

Rammell has quite a fantastic sense of humor.

“I was just being sarcastic. That was just a joke,” Rammell said. “I would never support him being assassinated.

“She kind of caught me off guard, to be honest with you.”
