Bill Clinton To N. Korea To Negotiate Release Of US Journalists
Bill Clinton is on his way to North Korea, charged with negotiating the release of Laura Ling (right) and Euana Lee (left), according to a South Korean news agency.
Yonhap news agency says Clinton is on his way to Pyongyang, citing an unidentified high-level source. Yonhap said Tuesday that when Clinton arrives he will enter negotiations to win the release of the reporters. It is not clear when he will arrive.
The reporters, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, were sentenced in June to 12 years of hard labor for entering the country illegally and engaging in “hostile acts.”
Both women work for Al Gore’s Current TV.
