Porn Star Challenging Lousiana Senator Vitter

Adult film star Stormy Daniels is looking to challenge “family values” Senator David Vitter, who is up for re-election in 2010.  Daniels told a crowed in a Baton Rouge restaurant not to Google her until they were in the privacy of their homes.  Daniels says she’s serious about this and not doing it as a publicity stunt, but that she lives primarily in Florida and would have to re-establish residency in her home state were she to run.

Daniels wants to get out of Iraq faster than currently planned, to replace the federal income tax with a national sales tax, get child porn off the Internet, and keep minors from viewing adult material.  She has not declared allegience to any political party.

Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne has expressed interest in the GOP primary. Others reportedly considering a run are retired state Supreme Court Justice Chet Traylor, a Republican; and state Sen. Eric LaFleur and Shaw Group CEO Jim Bernhard, both Democrats. Nobody has announced.

Vitter was on the DC Madam’s client list, in spite of running for office as a “family values” candidate, featuring his children in his campaign ads. Daniels was the star of the 2007 offering, “Operation: Desert Stormy” and has written and directed adult films for Wicked Pictures.  As previously noted here, there may well be competing war chests.
