Even The Homeless Are Connected

Yes, the homeless have cell phones. They used their gadgets to photograph Michelle Obama when she served lunch recently at “Miriam’s Kitchen.” They have email.  Some, like Eric Sheptock, have blogs where they chronicle life on the street and follow the politics of being homeless.  Steve Thomas writes a journal called “Better Believe Steve” where he discusses homeless issues and his struggles with addiction.

Many will search the web for usable bathrooms, and to seek employment.  And it’s a way to keep family members aware of their well-being.  Score one for technology.
