Colorodo State Senator Wants To Legislate Via Leviticus

Invoking God, the Son, the Holy Spirit, what our country was founded upon, and  how we were created for the purpose of family, Colorado State Senator Scott Renfroe used the floor of his state’s Senate to argue against health care benefits for gay partners of government employees.  He then reads a Bible verse that says “it’s not good for man to be alone,” so God created woman.  After that, Renfroe refers to homosexuality as “a violation of this natural order,”  before reading more Bible verse.

Renfroe compared the sin of murder to the sin of homosexuality, “I’m not saying this (homosexuality) is the only sin that’s out there,” said Renfroe. “We have murder. We have all sorts of sin. We have adultery. And we don’t make laws making those legal, and we would never think to make murder legal.”  He then said, “All sin is equal.  That sin there is equal to any other sin that’s in the Bible.”  Finally, Renfroe invokes Leviticus as a reason to vote “no.”

Leviticus also says it’s an abomination to eat shrimp, by the way.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

So let’s put shellfish right up there with murder, too.
