A young girl in the Indian town of Jharkland was married to a dog for the purpose of warding off evil spirits.

The locals at Munda Dhanda village performed the ceremony as they believe it will overcome any curse that might fall on the family

Nine-year-old Karnamoni Handsa is the lucky bride because she had a tooth rooted to her upper gum, which local tribesmen consider a bad omen.  Luckily, this doesn’t get in the way of her marrying later in life.  She won’t even have to divorce the dog.
