Obama Likely To Retain Tax Cut For The Wealthy

I wonder if all those who slammed Obama for wanting to “raise taxes” will applaud him if he delays his promise to rescind the Bush tax cuts on upper income Americans.  Obama adviser Bill Daley, the former Clinton Commerce secretary, on “Meet the Press”, says this seems “more likely than not.”  I’m straining to hear applause from stage right.

And Campaign strategist David Axelrod was asked on “Fox News Sunday” if tax cuts would be allowed to expire on schedule and the response was, “Those considerations will be made.”  That means taxes would stay as they are until at least 2011, with no attempt to legislate an earlier end to the tax sunset clause.
