First Shot Fired In War On Christmas

The American Humanist Association is putting ads on DC buses that are sure to fire up the war on Christmas crowd.  The $40,000 campaign called “Why Believe In a god” will say, “Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness’ sake.” The group says it wants to inject rational thought and enourage critical thinking.

“We are trying to reach our audience, and sometimes in order to reach an audience, everybody has to hear you,” said Fred Edwords, spokesman for the humanist group.

“Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of nontheists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion.”

Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association says, “It’s a stupid ad. How do we define ‘good’ if we don’t believe in God? …the Bible tells us what’s god and bad and right and wrong.”

And the conservative Christian group, the Liberty Counsel, just launched its “Friend or Foe Christmas campaign,” and is offering a  “Help Save Christmas” action pack.  Time to choose sides.
