The Faces Of Evil

Daniel Cowart (l) and Paul Schlesselman (r) planned to dress up in white tuxedos and top hats for their killing spree, which was to culminate in the assassination of Barack Obama. The plan was to drive as fast as they could toward Obama, shooting at him from the windows.  They stated they were willing to die in the attempt.  These geniuses gave themselves away when they wrote racially charged words and symbols in chalk on Cowart’s car.

They met on the Internet, bonding over white power and skinhead philosophy.  They were going to target an African-American school while going “state to state while robbing individuals and continuing to kill people.”  They were going to rob a house in Bells, TN, but got put off when they saw a dog and tow cars outside.  Then they shot out a window of the Church of Christ of Beech Grove in Brownsville, TN.

Cowart’s MySpace page says, “I see myself as an easy going person most of the time.”  He lists books like Swastika, Hitman and God’s Debris and movies such as “Borat”, “Family Guy” and “Mississippi Burning”. He invites people to IM him on AIM where his handle is “SiegHeilDaniel88”.  The number 88 stand for “HH”, the eighth letter of the alphabet, short for “Heil Hitler.”

Here is the three-count federal felony complaint naming 20-year-old Cowart and 18-year old Schlesselman.
