The Sarah Palin Fashion Show

In spite of the desire of the McCain campaign not to be talking about this, Sarah Palin goes through her entire wardrobe and brags that she’s wearing her own clothes, and can say so “without the filter of the media.”  This, apparently, is after the issue was introduced, before Palin spoke, by Elizabeth Hasselbeck.   Palin exclaims, “Those clothes, they are not my property, just like the lighting and the staging and everything else that the RNC purchased. I’m not taking them with me.  I’m back to wearing my own clothes from my favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska.”

Well, if she’s back to wearing her own clothes and accessories on the campaign trail, why did they spend the $150,000 in the first place?  And if there’s a “double standard here” as she claims, was that also true when John Edwards was mocked for receiving a $400 haircut, or when Bill Clinton got the same treatment for his $200 Christophe haircut?
