SC Mayor “Curious” To Know If Obama Is The Anti-Christ

Danny Funderburk, the mayor of Fort Mill, South Carolina, forwarded a chain e-mail suggesting that Obama is the anti-Christ because he is “just curious if there was any validity to it.”  Funderburk says he wanted to find out if there was any Biblical accuracy to the claim that the book of Revelation says the anti-Christ will be in his forties and of Muslim ancestry.

When asked if he believed Obama was the antichrist, Funderburk replied, “I’ve got absolutely no way of knowing that.”

Funderburk said it “probably does give that impression” that he believed the e-mail was true “but that was not my intent.”

The mayor said it was a mistake not to include a subject line when he forwarded the chain e-mail. “I am curious about current events and their connection to the Bible,” he said.

Of course there is no passage in Revelation that indicates that Barack Obama has the characteristics of the anti-Christ.  In fact, the anti-Christ isn’t mentioned at all.  The anti-Christ is mentioned in the first and second letters of John, described only as a denier of the divinity of Jesus.
