Is the Real Goal to Keep Palin Off the Debate Stage as Long as Possible?

Fox News is reporting that the McCain campaign is suggesting that the Commission on Presidential Debates not only postpone Friday’s debate in Mississippi, but also make next Thursday’s planned Vice Presidential debate in St. Louis the first Presidential Debate instead.


According to the report, the McCain camp also suggested that the VP debate could eventually be held at the Mississippi venue sometime down the road.


Eventually.


UPDATE – The Obama campaign points out that major news events have happened on the day of several past presidential and vice presidential debates, but those debates went ahead as planned. So if world-changing events in the past didn’t affect debate schedules, what’s the REAL reason behind the McCain camp’s ploy?
