If You’re Afraid Of The Press How Do You Handle Ahmadinejad?

McCain’s campaign continues to shield Governor Sarah Palin from the press.  First they were going to allow a pool camera and a producer to accompany Palin into five meetings at the UN.  At the last minute, that was rescinded, and only cameras, with no producers or reporters was allowed.  But the networks wouldn’t play ball, and so the campaign relented, a little, and a CNN producer was allowed into the beginning of the first meeting of the day, with Afghan president Hamid Karzai.

The campaign has cautiously shielded Palin from reporters, allowing just a few interviews and preventing reporters traveling with the campaign from asking questions. She has not held a press conference since being chosen by McCain four weeks ago, and has not done the traditional local interviews when traveling into media markets.

So, just what are the McCain people “cautiously shielding” her from?  Those evil meanies in the liberal press who hate America?
