Iraq Wants Timetable To Get US Out

And the timetable is very close to the one proposed by Barack Obama.  If enacted, combat troops would be out of the country by October 2010, but so far the Bush administration hasn’t agreed to it.  A UN mandate expires at the end of this year.  At the moment there are 144,000 US troops in Iraq.

So far, the administraiton has talked only in terms of “general time horizons“.   But as noted here, both McCain and Bush have said they’d we’d leave if the Iraqis wanted us to.

So, where’s the agreement?
