McCain’s ridiculous new ad blames, of all people, Barack Obama for higher oil prices.

But, as it turns out, it’s Condi Rice whose comments on the heels of Saturday’s talks with Iran that are likely responsible.

Oil prices rose Monday on a threat of new sanctions against Iran and as Tropical Storm Dolly headed into the Gulf of Mexico, prompting a hurricane watch for parts of Texas and Mexico…

In her first public comments since Saturday’s meeting in Switzerland, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice accused Iran of not being serious at the talks despite the presence of a senior U.S. diplomat, and warned it might soon face new sanctions.

Conservatives were giddy last week with the claim that Bush brought down oil prices by lifting a drilling ban.  Will they equally acknowledge that statements by the Secretary of State can also have an affect?
