McCain Was For Spying On Americans Before He Was Against It, But Now He’s For It Again

Wired lays out the ever-changing McCain positions on executive power (and a h/t to Mike’s Blog RoundupIn February, McCain voted to keep immunity for telecoms which helped the government spy on Americans.  On May 21, a McCain campaign surrogate said there would have to be hearings and repentance from offending telecoms.  On May 23, the campaign reversed itself again, saying McCain supports the Bush position after all, because of his “commitment to winning the battle against Islamic fundamentalists whose quest is to destroy the United States.”
