Good Thing That Photographer Wasn’t An “Illiterate Peasant”

Colorado state Republican representative Douglas Bruce, known for kicking a photographer who had the temerity to photograph him while he was praying, was ordered off the House podium after referring to Mexican workers as “illiterate peasants.” They were debating a bill that would allow immigrant workers to get temporary federal visas.

“I would like to have the opportunity to state at the microphone why I don’t think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado,” Bruce said.
