Can’t We Just Get Along?

Barack Obama is no longer the only candidate who’s been linked to Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

The New York Times has acquired a photo showing Wright chatting up Hillary Clinton’s husband (you may have heard of him) at a 1998 prayer breakfast.

And who provided this photo to the Times? Could it be the McCain team? Or the GOP’s anti-Clinton hate machine?

Nope.

The New York Times got the photo from the Obama campaign.

In providing the photograph to The New York Times, the Obama campaign appeared to be trying to divert some attention to the Clintons after a week in which Mr. Obama’s relationship with Mr. Wright has left him facing one of the biggest challenges of his campaign.

Asked for a response, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer pointed out the obvious:

“In the course of his two terms in office, Bill Clinton met with, corresponded with and took pictures with literally tens of thousands of people.”

All too often, Democrats eat their own. The McCain campaign must be loving this.
