What Is The True Intent Here?

and does Hillary condone it?

Drudge says that Clinton staffers sent out this photo of Obama dressed as a Somali elder over the weekend. Ostensibly, it’s to show a double standard in how Obama has been treated by the press, as opposed to Hillary:

“Wouldn’t we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?” questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

The Obama camp is striking back at the Clintons for the photo:

(Obama campaign manager David) Plouffe said in a statement: “On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election.

So, are these Clinton smear tactics, or is it really an effort to show that Obama has received a pass from the press? Did anybody involved with the Clinton campaign circulate this? And with whose knowledge and approval? If so, what was the true intent? If not, why not deny it?
