It’s Michelle’s Turn

for scrutiny, that is.

And this is what we can expect from the so-called “liberal media” once they get their claws into more of the Obama story.

Politico has links to her Princeton thesis, with these tidbits:

“My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my ‘blackness’ than ever before.  I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.”

I don’t know why this is such a shocking statement for a black student to make in the mid-80’s.  And who are white people to say what it feels like to be a black student at Princeton back then where, it is pointed out,

Princeton (at the time) had only five black tenured professors on its faculty, and its “Afro-American studies” program “is one of the smallest and most understaffed departments in the university.” In addition, she said only one major university-recognized group on campus was “designed specifically for the intellectual and social interests of blacks and other third world students.” (Her findings also stressed that Princeton was “infamous for being racially the most conservative of the Ivy League universities.”)

Will the same people who forgave George W. Bush for being young and irresponsible, for being unavailable to take a medical exam during his National Guard service, for being a drinker and who knows what else; will these same people be able to forgive Michelle Obama for candidly discussing how her “blackness” affected her at Princeton?
