Is This The Way Bush’s Brain Works?

While the right-wing media is beating up the “liberal” New York Times and the “liberal media” in general because of their perceived “liberal bias”, against John McCain (who, himself, was considered a “liberal” until the New York Times went after him), it’s nice to know that sleaze tactics are never (allegedly) used by conservatives against Democrats. The holier-than-though self-righteousness exhibited by the family values folks is punctured by stories like this one:

A former Republican campaign worker claims that President Bush’s top political adviser, Karl Rove, asked her to find evidence that the Democratic governor of Alabama at the time was cheating on his wife, according to an upcoming broadcast of “60 Minutes.”

Jill Simpson tells 60 Minutes that Karl Rove aproached her in 2001 when Don Siegelman was governor of Alabama.

“Karl Rove asked you to take pictures of Siegelman?” reporter Scott Pelley asks.
“Yes,” Simpson replies.
“In a compromising sexual position with one of his aides,” Pelley says.
“Yes, if I could,” she responds.

Democrats in the House are investigating this as part of a larger look at whether there’s been political meddling by the White House at the Justice Department.
