If You Like The Confederate Flag

you like Mike.

“Governor Huckabee understands that all the average guy with a Confederate flag on his pickup truck is saying is he’s proud to be a Southerner,” the ad states. “Mike Huckabee understands we value our heritage and why.”

And you probably like the attack ads against McCain and Romney.

“Waving a confederate battle flag in front of Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney turns out to be like waving a red flag in front of a bull — he charges,” the ad states. “Romney let fly in the CNN debate, saying, “That flag shouldn’t be shown,’ and ‘that’s not a flag I recognize.”‘

In its anti-McCain ad, an announcer states: “Mitt Romney is trying, but when it comes to bashing the Confederate flag he can’t hold a candle to John McCain. McCain’s been doing it — calling the flag a racist symbol — for years.”

“Americans For the Preservation of American Culture” did these ads. Here is what their mission statement says:

No longer do those of you who – like us – believe in the Charge espoused by Stephen Dill Lee have to be concerned about federal laws limiting political action. Americans for the Preservation of American Culture does not have IRS restrictions on defending Your Heritage by direct political action!

And here is the deal on Stephen Dill Lee:

“Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans

To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier’s good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations.”

Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee, Commander General,
United Confederate Veterans,
New Orleans, Louisiana, April 25, 1906.
