with taxpayers footing the bill…According to the online publication Politico.com, Giuliani billed tens of thousands of dollars in security travel expenses to little-known city offices whose functions include overseeing loft apartments and helping the disabled…When Giuliani was in office and having an affair with Judith Nathan — who later became his wife — both she and his then-wife, Donna Hanover, were given protection…Asked about the story during a GOP debate Wednesday, hours after it was first reported, Giuliani denied anything was wrong…Ed Koch, who is supporting Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton in the presidential race, said Thursday that rerouting expenditures was highly unusual…”Hiding the expenses by having agencies other than the Police Department carry them is not warranted — I don’t understand why he did that,” Koch said.

In his defense, to save taxpayers money Giuliani did limit himself to one mistress…at a time.

Rudy told Katie that he hid the expenses in other agencies so the security detail could get paid faster.

All those agencies that you’re talking about, all of it was fully reimbursed within that year. They’re all in the mayor’s office. This was a way of expediting payment.

You mean they weren’t on salary? Or does that mean only overtime got billed to agencies having nothing to do with their jobs?
He also said it was a debate day “dirty trick.” Hey…isn’t every day a debate day?

Bill Clinton, at least, had the decency to conduct his affair in the Oval Office while he was working for the American people. And multitasking.
