Treason: Overwhelming evidence Trump&Co have been compromised by Russia

Posted by | February 16, 2017 12:28 | Filed under: Top Stories

As politicians, the press, and the public ask more and more questions about Team Trump’s ties to Russia, consider this:

Trump has repeatedly shown that he is a fascist authoritarian who admires political strongmen and autocrats such as Vladimir Putin. In keeping with that leadership style, Trump has surrounded himself with family members and other advisers in order to insulate himself from criticism — and also to neuter any political rivals. In violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, Trump is also using the office of the presidency to personally enrich himself, his family members and other members of his inner circle, such as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Donald Trump also has a longtime pattern of open admiration for gangsters and organized crime.

In sum, Trump’s presidency has many of the traits of a criminal enterprise and/or a financial shakedown operation, masquerading as a democratically elected government.

Based on the increasing evidence of communication between his inner circle and Russian operatives, it appears plausible that Trump either actively knew about [Michael] Flynn’s actions (and perhaps even directed them) or chose to look away while actively benefiting from them. Either choice should disqualify him from the presidency.

In an earlier essay here at Salon, I argued that for a variety of reasons Donald Trump can be considered a traitor to the United States. By that standard, his voters and other supporters who do not denounce him are also traitors, and any Republican officials who continue to back Trump are traitors as well. Recent revelations about Flynn and the still-unknown extent of contact between other Trump advisers and Russian agents only serve to reinforce the truth of my earlier claim.

Republicans and other conservatives behave as though they have a monopoly on patriotism and exclusive claims to being “real Americans.” Now is the time for them to test that commitment. Do Republicans and other conservatives love power more than their country? I fear I know the answer. I ask the question with the hope that I am wrong.

And yes, you owe it to yourself to read Chauncey DeVega’s entire article.

Remember Bill Clinton? He lied about a BJ? Good times….https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f0c194c4ff8b43bd3f46a0a2a2b90c564f3e8f43f7c95b1c578b6b2d36597b73.jpg

    • The Original Just Me February 16th, 2017 at 23:15

He didn’t lie about the BJ But He should of used the word intercourse instead of sex.

      • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:21

well, he did say “sexual relations with that woman” (usually involves male/female copulation).

        • The Original Just Me February 17th, 2017 at 05:40

To you and Me , this is true but to some folks it also involves Oral. Which is what happened but only one time. And that was after HER ninth attempt to involve Him.

    • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:12

      – or even as much as breaking into a hotel suite?

    • bunya February 17th, 2017 at 13:47

You would think that treason would be a more serious offense than a common blowjob, but this is the United States. We get off by embarrassing ourselves to other countries by impeaching a good president for lying about a blow job. Treason? War crimes and crime against humanity? C’mon. That’s small potatoes compared to infidelity.

      • William February 17th, 2017 at 13:57

Sadly, we knew Cheeto-Hitler was a sex offender before the election. He even bragged about it.

Bunya that’s a true gem of a comment: this kind of thing always bewilders foreigners, a lot! :)

I’d love him to end up on trial for treason…

    • Mike February 16th, 2017 at 13:32

It’s one of my dreams also but I’m not holding my breathe

      • Gina Bousquet February 16th, 2017 at 14:04

Me neither, but an impeachment is darn necessary.

        • The Original Just Me February 16th, 2017 at 23:17

We will never get this Congress to Impeach Trump.

          • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:11

then we need a new congress, and hold those who refuse to throw this traitorous LIAR out of office accountable as accomplices in a criminal conspiracy to sell out America’s freedom to the Russians.

            • The Original Just Me February 17th, 2017 at 05:41

I’m with you. Now you have to convince a bunch of other People like the STUPID Coal Miners.

as the traitorous Military CIC, he MUST be sent to a firing squad.

            He deserves it, no doubt.

      He will commit suicide first.

      • crc3 February 16th, 2017 at 13:55

Quite possible considering how much of a coward he is….

        • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:07

trump is too much of a coward.

he pumps himself with his own LIES just to be the LIAR that he is.

he’s the type that would prefer to be in a spaceship while planet earth and all on it were blown to bits.

the only time he will come to grips with death is when his LYING tongue is silenced forevermore.

      • Gina Bousquet February 16th, 2017 at 14:01

        Who knows?

        • mea_mark February 16th, 2017 at 14:10

The medicine he takes for hair loss can make people suicidal. With his mentality and ego, it just seems like an obvious conclusion to me.

      • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:03

        too much of a coward.

he’d rather be a lap puppy for mad vlad and watch the American people have to defend themselves against Russian troops… (from afar to be sure).

    • majii February 16th, 2017 at 15:53

I don’t think he’ll be tried for treason or be impeached because every response I’ve read so far from GOPers in the House indicate they are more than willing to pretend there is NOTHING to this even though they’re aware that the WH has been compromised by connections to the Russian government. Their primary loyalties lie with their party and the opportunity to exercise power and implement their political agenda. Just like their alleged concern for deficit spending only exists when their candidate isn’t in the WH, their concern for our national security ceases to exist if a GOPer is in the WH. They’re treasonous hypocrites.

      • Gina Bousquet February 16th, 2017 at 16:01

The problem is the administration is too dysfunctional and things already seem so out of control there’s panic in many circles. It’s hard to even figure out what may end up happening…

      • Jeanne173 February 16th, 2017 at 20:16

I have to agree with you, they don’t seem to think this is a big deal. After they use this fool ( trump ) too get what they want then maybe they will get rid of him. I think they feel that pence is more manageable.

      • granpa.usthai February 17th, 2017 at 01:01

        absolutely.

for the US Military to go along with the selling out of America by these traitors is unthinkable. They will either have to do their duty under the UCMJ , find their CIC unfit for leadership and renew their oath to the Constitution and the people, or do like the german military did and swear a new allegiance to this pile of orange dung.

      • Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2017 at 08:05

They are scum and kept moving to the right steadily, to end up representing the worst in the country.

        • The Original Just Me February 17th, 2017 at 13:11

I can’t believe that they keep getting elected. Each on seems worse than the former. But, that is the NAZI influence and they are pretty smart at getting what they are after.

          • Gina Bousquet February 17th, 2017 at 15:49

They can be hard to defeat because they play dirtier than any other to fool the people. But being so mean sometimes they make the opposition uprise in revolutionary passion.

            • The Original Just Me February 17th, 2017 at 21:44

Every revolution needs two things, a cause and a strong leader. The Democrats do not have a strong leader that will talk to or shake the hands of the People. They just Cocktail Party with the rich folks and forget about the common “We The People”.

              • Gina Bousquet February 18th, 2017 at 06:34

They certainly don’t seem to be leading their base. Resistance is coming from grassroots alone.

A Good Solid, Smart, Leader sure is missing an opportunity to jump in and take over the Party.

                  • Gina Bousquet February 19th, 2017 at 22:12

Being very much missed. The base is way ahead of the representatives.

I was corrected. President Obama did a lot of hand shaking in the crowds and HE WON.

                    • Gina Bousquet February 19th, 2017 at 23:03

But that was Obama, he personified hope, he moved the people, wasn’t it so? The Party is not offering this now and you described them well.

                    • The Original Just Me February 22nd, 2017 at 12:35

I do care about People and I try to be very considerate. My short comings are in the Romantic Department. I can be Romantic IF the woman is receptive but My Romantic expressions are very real and Not Phony, when I do express them. Therefore, if they are brushed off, or ignored, I just quit trying to express them immediately. Still, I may be quite Clumsy when trying to be Romantic, due to not being very well practiced. I just am not very Good at it.

                    • Gina Bousquet February 23rd, 2017 at 17:36

This should not bother you. Most men are only romantic if the woman is receptive, besides, girls love men with a great sense of humor. :)

I enjoy the Male Female relationship thing but I find most women just don’t want to enjoy what comes naturally. I just don’t even want to try anymore. Of coarse my wife’s situation is a real turn down but I am still alive. :+)

I do Love Her and care for Her deeply. I have for 55 years. But now days it is only about taking care of Her. She can no longer understand anything so it is only to guess what She needs. I will take care of Her and I’ll see to it that She is never put in a nursing Home as I have a Very Low Opinion of them. I know Her and I can understand what She wants. That is all that is needed. Well, that and a friend or two to talk to. :+)

One of the best things about both this site and FON is the active mods. At a lot of sites there is no evidence they even exist. I used to visit Media Matters, but one, they have too many commenters, and two, there are no mods to regulate either the spam or disrespectful posters. And that site has a lot of both. Notice you rarely see those “Google is paying $18,000 an hour” junk ads here. They are deleted shortly after they appear. And Ed at FON has no patience with people who insult others.

                    • Gina Bousquet February 25th, 2017 at 10:05

I also like the fact that the threads are not enormous, so you can easily meet people you know. I was at FON just now. But I’ll miss alan. com very much, if they close it. I like the way it looks, I guess I recognize it as a cozy, familiar place. *sigh*

good question, but you already know the answer.

republicans in general (chickenhawks) who push for Americans to be in a military adventure, anywhere over anything for any reason, if none being available, then fabricate one, while having themselves exempted from any such service (ref: donald j. trump’s military record).

republicans in general (religious zealots) who proclaim to have the one true faith, but live 180 degrees out, while condemning those who live a more righteous lifestyle simply because they will not surrender their freedoms to self proclaimed religious leaders who claim to have been chosen by god to rule over US.

republicans in general (white racist) who place a know LIAR and urine orange colored blob p*ssy grabbing c*nt at the top position even when LOSING the popular vote with 3,000,000 Americans voting for Lady Clinton. (that’s more than the population of 19 states, or DC, or 4 US Territories.).

don’t look for too many in the republican party seeking justice…not as long as their leaders can LIE with immunity in the MSM.

Who’s today’s Archibald Cox? Get him/her on the case.

  10. eyelashviper February 17th, 2017 at 10:37

tRump has been involved with the Russian goons for decades, in all kinds of “deals”, and more than a few have been ensconsed at Trump Tower. Without an infusion of Russian dollars long ago, tRump would have been finished, kaput, once he ran out of daddy’s money and bankrupted his casinos, a feat never accomplished before by anyone.
Both Manafort and Flynn are deeply involved with Russian interests, along with various spox, including the dullard former house member Jack Kingston.

  11. bunya February 17th, 2017 at 13:39

Ordinarily I would ask the question, “why isn’t this traitor in jail already?” And the answer is quite simple, really. Let’s look at the record, shall we?
Nixon (Watergate) – pardoned by Ford
Reagan (Iran-contra) – “the Iran-Contra scandal was a damn shame, but it’s time to move on”. Clinton gave a pass to Bonzo.
GW Bush (war crimes and crimes against humanity). Pardoned by Obama – but he couldn’t pardon Don Siegelman. What an asshole.
