Appeals court crushes DOJ appeal of order ending Trump travel ban

Ouch:

A federal appeals court early Sunday rejected the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) request to restore President Trump’s travel ban on immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in San Francisco denied the DOJ’s request an emergency stay, pending full consideration of the motion.

The court requested a response from attorneys general in Washington state and Minnesota on Sunday and from the administration by Monday afternoon.

The Justice Department filed a notice Saturday evening that it would formally appeal a temporary nationwide restraining order issued by a federal judge in Seattle on Friday, which immediately halted Trump’s immigration order.

On Friday, a federal judge blocked the executive order banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.

Poor Donnie is rapidly discovering that being POTUS is not like being the top dog in the board room where whatever you say is the law of the land.

waiting until they finally get an EO that can stick.

like making it illegal to MASTURBATE!

that’s right guys, it’s religiously WRONG and can be legislated by EO.

simply put: ALL males between 13 and 73 can be forced to submit a daily sperm count. If it’s depleted for any reason other than religiously acceptable pro creation, U R F’d !

“Conan! What is best in life?” “To crush your enemies (DOJ appeals) — See them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!”-Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hired when Trump was fired for racism!

Just as they discount HRC’s popular vote LANDSLIDE victory, by portraying California votes as somehow counting for less than votes from Texas, right wingers have long had a hair up their butts for the 9th Circuit. No doubt today’s blogs are full of invective for California, the west coast, and the 9th circuit.

Unless I am mistaken, the next step will be the Supreme Court and I doubt the case is going to wait until confirmation hearings are done. Of course the SCOTUS could even refuse to hear the case.

This is in all likelihood a meaningless factoid, but I cannot ignore the irony.

On FOX’s network Super Bowl pregame show, the primary sponsor is prominently displayed on the front of the desk the analysts are sitting at.

The sponsor for the segment that just ended around 2:25pm pacific time was Turkish Airlines.

In other words, television coverage for an event that has become a de facto holiday in America (Super Bowl Sunday) was paid for by a company where a majority Muslim nation has a 50% ownership stake.

As I said, probably a meaningless factoid. But it does bring a smile to my face as I envision those red-state Trump worshiping Super Bowl viewers confronted with a “Muslim” company as they settle down to watch the game.

Assuming that Trump worshipers realize Turkey is a Muslim country….

Even Budweiser understands our immigrant / refugee roots, and at great expense tells everyone so during the Super Bowl.

And the Reich-winger alt-reality crowd already are bleating about a boycott.

Here’s the Trump Admin’s media-company-of-record on the subject:

      https://www.rt.com/usa/376379-immigration-super-bowl-budweiser/

Wonder what they think of the fact that Budweiser can’t use that name in Europe because of a prior claim to the name… about a 700 year old claim…(and the famous Budweiser Budvar Brewery which was founded in 1785 – about 100 years before Mr. Busch created his.)
