Jennifer Holliday cancels: ‘lapse of judgement’

Jennifer Holliday says she won’t perform at the Trump inauguration, calling her initial acceptance a “lapse of judgment.”

Holliday, considered a longtime LGBT ally, explained that she changed her mind after reading a Friday Daily Beast story titled, “Jennifer Holliday Will Perform at Trump’s Inauguration, Which Is Heartbreaking to Gay Fans.”

The article argued that the singer’s decision to participate in the inaugural event was “an act that seems to defy everything her most passionate supporters stand for, and even issues she herself has supported throughout her career.”

“My only choice must now be to stand with the LGBT Community and to state unequivocally that I WILL NOT PERFORM FOR THE WELCOME CONCERT OR FOR ANY OF THE INAUGURATION FESTIVITIES!”

Good for her. No lets see who is remaining on the Trump parade of B side “artists”? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ecfbce26f4a6b825b6c7d3e0ab273faa9c9969c4272f623da355cb085cd4ff0a.jpg

i’m still pissed with her. where the fk has she been? this isn’t new to the public. did she even consider listening to her LGBT community friends about tRumps anti-gay/LGBT picks for his cabinet? so, she deserved the backlash.

It’s telling how many people are completely disconnected with politics. We used to take it for granted that persons aspiring to the highest office in the land were qualified. We used to simply assume that they weren’t sex offenders, pathological liars and utter failures who bankrupt businesses, destroyed venders and contractors and insulted veterans, the disabled and women. We used to take too much for granted.

They had over a year to pay attention to the campaign, but did they? Don’t hold your breath.

    Still available:
    – Ted Nugent as his headline singer, ready to share with the crowd his latest single: “Let’s go shoot some ni**ers”.
    – Gary Busey to give a Shakespearian soliloquy
    – Scott Baio to do shadow puppetry

“Scott Baio to do shadow puppetry”
The only one doing puppetry in the shadows is Putin.

The sad thing is, nearly all Trump supporters that attend will not know that it is a Fake Bruce Springsteen Band that is playing…

Zoe Saldana (whoever she is) says trump is the victim, and Hollywood should be ashamed for “bullying” him. Must be an Onion article, right? No, it’s from Yahoo, which is an unintentional joke.

google her name. she’s well known. you’ll remember her. she was in the last couple of star trek movies and mission impossible.

Don’t see the Star Trek stuff either. Or MI, for that matter.

Star Wars? From Here to Eternity? Francis Goes to West Point?

              Young Frankenstein?

              • Larry Schmitt January 15th, 2017 at 06:50

Yes, yes, no, yes. I prefer old movies. Too many new ones depend too much on explosions and explicit sex. I got turned off the Star Trek movies when the first one spent what seemed like forever panning the camera along the exterior of the starship. It was just boring, and I haven’t seen any of them since.

BTW, Francis movies are kinda fun… good clean fun. One selling point is that Francis The Talking Mule is voiced by Chill Wills.

for crying out loud. LOL. you have watched the mission impossible movies right?

              • Larry Schmitt January 15th, 2017 at 06:50

Just the first one. More flash than story, and not worth multiple sequels.
