He took a handgun from his bag after getting off a flight.

Santiago, 26, of Anchorage, Alaska, has been identified as the gunman who opened fire at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday.

Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca wrote on Facebook that Santiago landed at the airport after a flight. Santiago checked a handgun in his luggage and retrieved it at the Terminal 2 baggage claim, LaMaca wrote, adding that he loaded the gun in a bathroom then came out and opened fire. NBC News, citing law enforcement officials, confirmed LaMarca’s story.

Santiago was taken alive into custody. Five people were killed and eight people were wounded by Santiago, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Department.

Build a wall between Alaska and ‘Murikkka and make them pay for it.

All the security measures at the airport are useless if someone really wants to go on a killing spree. Just the price we pay for our “freedom” to have more guns than we could possibly need. I’m sure the families are comforted by the fact that their second amendment rights are safe.

Security “measures” don’t mean much if law enforcement has no problem with people possessing firearms even if they “hear voices” .

“Santiago visited an FBI office in Anchorage in 2016, claiming voices were telling him to fight for ISIS…”

“In January 2016, Santiago was charged with two misdemeanor crimes: one
count of fourth-degree assault and another for damage of property over
$50. According to a spokesperson from the Anchorage Police department
the incident was related to domestic violence.”

“Santiago’s brother said he had since been receiving psychological counseling.”

So this guy had possession of firearms why? Oh right, the NRA and the rest of the gun industry lobby.
