McCain calls Russian hacking ‘an act of war’

Posted by | December 31, 2016 19:00 | Filed under: Politics War & Peace

John McCain says there must be “a price to pay.”

The Arizona senator called Russia’s alleged cyber attack to influence the 2016 presidential election an ‘act of war’ on Friday.

‘When you attack a country, it’s an act of war,’ he said on Ukrainian TV after meeting with President Petro Poroshenko.

‘And so we have to make sure that there is a price to pay so that we can perhaps persuade Russians to stop this kind of attack on our very fundamentals of democracy.’

I knew Johnny Rambo was going for the war switch over this Just stay away from the nukes Johnny

Given the President-elect’s insistence that we just “move on”, I find Sen. McCain’s comments encouraging. At least some Republicans still believe in country before party.

Sen. McCain has experienced the horrors of war, up close and personal. I would much rather have his hands on the nukes, than the guy who is about to get the codes, and who keeps asking why can’t we use nukes since we have them..

      • Hirightnow December 31st, 2016 at 19:42

But, the potus-elect likes people who weren’t captured….

      • robert December 31st, 2016 at 20:50

The good news is We proved Russian hackers have been here for months possibly years

The bad news, the gop will eventually blame Obama for not stopping this from happening. I understand what McCain went through but there is a wallstreet guy in office who has his own agenda and unfortunately the military is just a job title to him

    I’m so torn right now…

      I know… potatoes or stuffing.

Yeah, I feel your pain. We are in a sad state when McCain is one of the people we have to hope to remain sane and help dig us out of this huge pit we are currently in.

      • robert January 1st, 2017 at 07:20

After hearing bomb bomb bomb Iran song I’m not too sure about the sanity part but he’s always open to war ideas

        • Suzanne McFly January 1st, 2017 at 07:44

I think the palin choice solidified his sanity.

          • robert January 1st, 2017 at 14:08

Palin was the most desperate for the job After all she sacrificed everyone in Alaska to get the opportunity but did that bother Johnny ?

            We might never know

I don’t think I really would want to know. I would hate to look inside the republican closet.

    Trump can’t see a problem

  4. StoneyCurtisll December 31st, 2016 at 20:23

‘McCain calls Russian hacking ‘an act of war’…
Trump calls Russian hacking “the art of the deal” with a business partner…
And Trump asks, “what the fugg ya gonna do about it”?..
“I we own this country now”. ( he and putin)

  5. bpollen December 31st, 2016 at 20:34

I actually find the planting of malware in our electrical grid a MUCH more plausible act of war.

  6. Warman1138 December 31st, 2016 at 22:07

    McCain’s right.

  7. StoneyCurtisll December 31st, 2016 at 22:51

John McCain is now on the the Trumpf/Putin hate list…
Cause Trumpf hates losers and people captured by the enemy…(they are losers)..
    It’s all on video..
yet trump will deny he said any of it…

well LOL on selling that NUCLEAR DEVASTATION to the Congress.

personally, I’m more of the mind that it’s North Korea, being that they ain’t as dumb as we’ve been led to believe, still, LOL on selling that NUCLEAR DEVASTATION to the Congress also.

That’s interesting Ukranian television broadcast Mccaines statements.Maybe I’ll start listening to them to get the news the absolutely worthless sold out biased main dead media won’t report. Is McCaine the only repub that’s willing to acknowledge that there is a serious breach that has occurred? Go a step further McCaine and ask the GOP and PRES.O to declare this what it is,a national emergency. We are about to have a Russia puppet that has no idea what he’s doing take control of the most powerful office in the world. One which he is not qualified for, does not deserve, nor has won fair and square without foreign meddling.

There are enough RINOs in Congress to make Trump the first full term lame duck president

  13. Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 16:42

That this has not become a major investigation in Congress is a shame!

    • oldfart January 2nd, 2017 at 17:22

      …And a disgrace.

      • Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 17:33

You’re so right, still much more a disgrace to the country than a shame to the lawmakers.

        • oldfart January 2nd, 2017 at 18:08

Yeah, it’s that damn “We the people” thing that annoys me…
I blame the media mostly though. It appears that this countries last true bastion of democracy has thrown in with billionaire domination.

          • Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 18:33

The big press now leans to the right in your country it seems

            • oldfart January 2nd, 2017 at 19:23

              Ya think ? ;)

Only the cash…Capitalism and all that, wut wut. ;)

Changes are coming here my friend and I do not like what it appears to be shaping into.

              • Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 19:48

Me neither… The changes are not promising… The nuttiest right wingers in power, that was a hell of a shock.

  14. William January 2nd, 2017 at 17:50

Ah, what does McCain know? After all he’s just a decorated Naval aviator who spent more than 5 years in a POW camp, inspiring and keeping his men alive. Or as Trump would say a “loser”
