Tracking Santa: NORAD brings Christmas joy to children everywhere

Posted by | December 24, 2016 17:00 | Filed under: Top Stories

More than 1000 volunteers are following Santa’s route.

Top U.S. military agency NORAD stages the tracking effort annually on behalf of kids across the Earth, taking calls from children who want to know if they’re on the Naughty or Nice list (only Santa knows that), whether he got their last-minute present request (he gets regular updates) and whether the weather will stop him from coming. (Nope, because Rudolph.)

Phones ring constantly in the command center as volunteers remind kids to be thankful, stay asleep tonight no matter what they hear and do their best to stay on the Nice list all year. Oh, and don’t forget to go to bed early to ensure Santa has time to get his work done.

“It’s everything I thought it would be,” said grinning first-time volunteer Maj. Brian Tuzzolino of the U.S. Air Force. “I’m 42 but I feel like I’m 12.”

Speaking of Christmas and the military……
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe holiday season.
I love the sentiment of this song because it gives me hope for peace in the world.

I read a book about the Christmas truce. There was also a movie, Joyeux Noel, in 2005. Worth seeing.

The fact that happened proves humans can be good if given the chance, at least until it is time to make enemies of one another again.

The soldiers were the ones that had the truce. The officers put an end to it when they found out.

Well we always knew the military is nothing without the Enlisted Troops.

As a career NCO, I agree with you.

trump will figure a way to f*ck this up too. He’ll say it costs $78 billion, and we can’t afford it anymore.

He’ll have a hissy fit on Twitter when he realizes that Santa is far more popular than he is.
