Trump’s vow to overturn DACA could cost billions

Posted by | December 20, 2016 08:12 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

The attempt to get rid of DREAMers, could cost billions.

f the executive order is repealed, about 645,000 people would lose their legal right to work in the country,  the San-Francisco based immigrant Legal Resource Center said, CNN reported.

That loss of work and the process of finding and retraining replacements for these workers could cost businesses about $3.4 billion, the center added.

“Some employers may consider consolidating or shedding these existing positions to proactively reduce some of those [turnover] costs,” said Jose Magaña-Salgado, an immigration policy attorney and the author of the report. The loss of those workers could reduce tax revenue and decrease payments to programs such as Social Security and Medicare by about $24.6 billion over the course of a decade, according to the study.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) provides work authorization and a temporary halt on deportation to illegal immigrants who arrived as children if they meet certain requirements.

Pumpkin head just might do something stupid.

“The president-elect said in an interview earlier this month he is “going to work something out” for those undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.”

NO wall, NO mass deportations, Hillary not in prison, NO immediate removal of the ACA
What the hell do they have to lose…SUCKERS.

But here’s the think about conservatives — they will abandon their beliefs in a dime and not even seem to know it.

In order to get a take on tRumpanzes reactions, I visit the RNJ sites.
They are not happy with his performance of the above listed promises.
I’m not talking normal people here.
The normal ones are all saying give him a chance…
Divide and conquer time, a time honored republican tactic, is just around the corner.

I’m banned from all the main conservative sites. How are you not?

I never curse or break any rules — but I get banned, sometimes after a single post.

          • Budda December 20th, 2016 at 12:01

            Don’t post, just visit.

              >> Don’t post, just visit.

It’s not in my personality — if I hear people lying or hurting others I have to speak up.

And, it bugs me that what you suggest is what conservatives want — to speak without a reality check. (no offense to you.)

Only once has a conservative warned me before banning me — and that’s what he asked. “Read my blog but just don’t comment.”

              I can’t do it.

              • Budda December 20th, 2016 at 14:57

It was just a suggestion. I too, find it hard not to lay into the hatefully ignorant among us.

          • oldfart December 20th, 2016 at 14:03

            Visit. Then take hot showers.
I wouldn’t last a New York minute at any of them with posting.

      • whatthe46 December 21st, 2016 at 00:33

oh yes he most certainly is. he just told your ignorant racist what you wanted to hear numbuts so you would elect him. bad enough you’re poorly educated, he picked a woman for Sec of Ed who is against public schools. last thing we need is more of you idiots being homeschooled.

      • oldfart December 21st, 2016 at 00:42

I’ve called tRump many things but Hitler wasn’t one of them…yet.

It’s not proven green card workers will work for the same pay rate.

Employers are in for a big surprise

    • Mensa Member December 20th, 2016 at 11:52

Employers are the main reason we have so much illegal immigration. They love the cheap, legally-vulnerable workers.

The relevant national conversation should be about hiring fraud, not Mexican immigration.

Have you ever heard an elected Republican leader address this issue, head on?

      • Budda December 20th, 2016 at 12:00

        nailed it!

        • Mensa Member December 20th, 2016 at 12:12

          Thanks.

I’ve lived in hardcore Republican farming communities a couple of different times.

The conservatives are driving illegal immigration while blaming us liberals!

          It’s so disingenuous.

It’s reminds me of slavery days. This is the second time conservatives have built a whole economy around exploiting a subgroup of people. They hate those people while needing them.

And they blame others for the problems it creates.

Idaho could not have it’s stinking, filthy, dairy industry if it wasn’t for illegals. Did I mention Idaho is a solid Red state ?

      • robert December 20th, 2016 at 14:47

The only Republican to admit there was a immigration problem was Ronnie who had one foot into retirement.

        Better late then never…

      • wpadon December 21st, 2016 at 00:17

I agree, if you want to end illegal immigration,or nearly stop it, put the people who hire them in jail. Say one year of jail for each of the officers of a company for each employee hired plus a financial penalty.

        • whatthe46 December 21st, 2016 at 00:31

all you have to do is park on the corner of the nearest bus stop in a wealthy neighborhood and follow the mexican walking to work. these same people that cry about immigrants are hiring them.

          • The Original Just Me December 21st, 2016 at 06:53

These people are Horrible, Terrible Humans. Please keep the grass mowed and the hedges trimmed. Two Faced Bigots. Republicans, who can stand them ????

        A very interesting thought

Perhaps there are employers out there who are not trump supporters at all
