Obama to ‘coach’ young talent to help party

President Obama wants to spend some of his post-presidency helping develop new talent.

“What I am interested in is just developing a whole new generation of talent,” Obama told NPR’s Steve Inskeep in an interview airing on Morning Edition.

“There are such incredible young people who not only worked on my campaign, but I’ve seen in advocacy groups,” Obama said. “I’ve seen passionate about issues like climate change, or conservation, criminal justice reform. You know, campaigns to — for a livable wage, or health insurance. And making sure that whatever resources, credibility, spotlight that I can bring to help them rise up. That’s something that I think I can do well, I think Michelle can do well.”

I hope this is just but one aspect of about a thousand points of action he and Michelle are going to be doing post-Presidency to help save us from the mess we are heading into.

A poster on another thread posted an interesting suggestion:

President Obama should pull a North Carolina and strip Trump of presidential powers before leaving office. Totally unrealistic but fun to think about.

Any executive action taken be it by a President or Governor can be undone by executive order as well.

Yes, I know that. That’s why I said it was unrealistic.

No… bigotry, a worthless media, and right-wing lies from the likes of Republican politicians did that. But hey, it’s not surprising that people blame the black guy for destroying the country – the one whose economy improved, whose unemployment numbers decreased, stock-market skyrocketed, the recession ended, millions of new people got healthcare, consumers got protection (CFPB), cheaper gas, halving of foreign oil imports, clean energy production doubled, deficit by 75%, biggest job growth since the 90s, decreased troops in Iraq by more than 90%, oversaw the realization of marriage equality, etc. Damn you, Obama, you divider you!

For over 25 years the so called “young talent” has been propagandized by the likes of Rush, Murdoch, Koch brothers, Drudge, and all the rest of the right wing talking heads.

I hope this “young talent” is capable of critical thinking.

The big problem for democrats is their diversity it is made of all the people who don’t fit into the republicans and trying to get a unifying message is the problem. As long as the party has no defined direction and no spokesperson the party we will keep losing.
