I remember when my parents first told me Santa was a lie.I had just turned 55.I was devastated, and never trusted them again.

I think most parents do that so you’ll die a miserable death?

better to just keep believing or Santa might just not bring you anything either.

if they were lying when they told you there was a Santa Claus, who’s to say they weren’t lying when they told you there was no Santa Claus? Heck, now they even want you to believe there is no Easter Bunny? – then who’s the pink rabbit hocking energizer batteries? -maybe granny disguised as a big bad wolf?

BELIEVE and it’ll come true! -maybe.

Children are allowed to believe in the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny, and Santa, and of course jesus.
They are also allowed to lose that belief in the tooth fairy fairly early, with the Easter Bunny to follow. Santa becomes a pleasant fantasy by age 10 if not before for most children. The belief in jesus is often re-enforced well into adulthood. I wonder if these same ‘experts’ would say believing in imaginary deities is also harmful to some degree.

I think the power of not wanting to deal with pissed off parents who didn’t want their kids to know is a pretty popular reason a lot of people just go with it.

its more like, children who are forced into religion tend to have psych problems. look at WBC, fuckin’ psychotic tards.

No, it’s not like that at all.
I’ve never seen Santa marching around shouting that the gays will burn your toys after having sex with them… or whatever.
Not that you don’t have a point, it’s just not related to what I was saying is all.

        Side note:
I really wish people would stop using “retard”/”tards”/etc… it’s derogatory and hurtful to those with mental challenges.
I don’t care if it isn’t meant that way… it’s also not “meant that way” when people say “that’s gay” to describe something stupid, but it’s still hurtful and de-legitimizing of an entire populace.
