Cop fired for giving feces sandwich to homeless man

How can a person be so cruel?

A San Antonio police officer has been fired after an internal investigation determined he tried to give a homeless man a sandwich with feces inside it.

Police Chief William McManus said in a statement Friday that former officer Matthew Luckhurst committed a “vile and disgusting act.”

Luckhurst was a five-year member of the department when he told another officer in May that he had picked up feces, placed it on bread and put it in a container for the homeless man.

He’s vile and disgusting alright. He deserves getting fired but he should also be served same sandwich.

        The sickness is revolting..
        Especially from “law enforcement”

It shows the mentality of some of these “officers.” A classic example of their self perceived attitude of superiority.

They should make him eat that f*cking sandwich, and record it, and post it on his Facebook page. Where do these f*ckers get the idea that this kind of behavior is acceptable?

I think it stems from white privilege and entitlement, along with the deification of law enforcement by the white populous. (and I say this as a member of the white privileged populous)

And the ones who do what you’re referring to also seem to think that if you object to the killing of unarmed black men by cops, you are automatically against cops in general.

I’ll bet this stupid POS thought he was hilarious…..because a person doesn’t have a home and/or possibly having some mental or health problems that he is somehow deserving of this type of contempt….makes me sick

He’ll become more intimate with feces when his cell mate Bubba whips up some Santorum.

He is fired, not charged with anything.

Police departments will not hire someone with a high IQ. They have to invest a lot in training them, and they usually leave if a better opportunity arises. The dimmer ones hang on to the job because they have no upward path. Being an authoritarian is easy for dumb people. Just exert excess control. It makes them feel superior.

Is that true? I took a course in industrial psychology and they said that high IQs are not an advantage in every job. They mentioned bus drivers. I suppose it’s professions where one focuses on procedure.

… and a lot of police work is procedure.

But I think the bigger problem is that the profession attracts brute authority freaks.

My profession of teaching has a similar problem — attracting pedophiles, most famously. But we also have a problem with “bossy” personality types. I’ve also seen that in the rest home industry.

Police departments need to carefully screen out authority freaks. When hiring process is best but also among their own ranks.

But, instead, they protect and enable them. This is a bigger problem than IQ.
