Trump takes 1-point lead in national poll

Posted by | November 2, 2016 07:11 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton has dropped following James Comey’s breaking FBI protocol by revealing that more emails have to be examined. Never mind that there is no information about the relevance of these emails to the Clinton investigation.

While vote preferences have held essentially steady, she’s now a slim point behind Donald Trump — a first since May — in the latest ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates.

In the latest results, 46 percent of likely voters support Trump, and 45 percent are for Clinton. With the data taken to a decimal place for illustrative purposes, a mere 0.7 of a percentage point divides them.

The Justice department tipped off the Clinton campaign regarding the email fiasco.

          Wikileaks Russian hacked E-mails…
And Breitbart are hardly credible sources…
Do ya have any real proof?

          • amongoose November 3rd, 2016 at 19:25

But they are the Democrats emails.
            Were they doctored before release?
            Or are they accurate?

            • StoneyCurtisll November 3rd, 2016 at 19:47

They could have been altered after they were hacked..
They may not even be real…
How do we know for sure?…
              Do you trust Russia?
Personally I do not trust Russian hackers or Putin or any foreign entity trying to influence our election.

              • amongoose November 4th, 2016 at 14:45

So did the Russians hacked 45k emails (just from John Podesta), modified them and release them?
That’s easy to prove, release the “originals”, and compare them.
                I’ll bet there isn’t a difference.

                • oldfart November 4th, 2016 at 14:54

                  …and easier said than done.

                • StoneyCurtisll November 4th, 2016 at 21:28

The only crime committed was the hacking of Podesta’s E-Mails…
Nothing contained in them was criminal…
So I dont know what you are trying to get at…

                  • amongoose November 5th, 2016 at 13:55

How much have you looked into the content of the Wikileaks dumps?
There’s are some disturbing things in there that are troubling.

                    • StoneyCurtisll November 5th, 2016 at 19:23

                      Troubling, maybe…
                      But nothing criminal.
As far as anyone knows, what Julian Assange puts out may or may not be real, altered or just made up..
And since it comes from Russian hackers, (according to many US Government security agencies) there is a very high probability that there is massive misinformation involved.

Donna Brazile fired for passing debate questions to Hillary is now head of the DNC.

Use Anthony Weiner’s trusted staff to deliver a secure government communications device?
Sloppy, or a breech of government security regulations?

                      Why is this election close?
It makes for a problem. It is hard to go after someone for being unethical when this is out there.
Plus you have, for the first time since Reagan, a repub. who is a street fighter, like Y’all.
And I think this election is an insurrection, against both parties from both inside and out. The incumbents will win 90% as usual, but, some are having a harder fight than they should, many, especially on the republican side had hard primary fights. These ethical problems, on both sides, the VA, and such just corroborate what people thought for a while, that DC is in need of major repair.
That’s why I think the polls are so close. Both parties disgust them, there’s a Pox on both houses.

Have you shared you imagined criminal findings with the FBI and the DOJ?..
I’m sure if they are factual, they, (DOJ/FBI) would be more than happy to look into them.

                    • amongoose November 6th, 2016 at 18:17

                      I gave you two.
Communication between PAC’s and campaigns violates election law, and forgetting to list a thousand plus donations by a charity is violation of IRS laws.
                      .
                      Why is nothing done?
D.C. protects it’s own, and that is what people are mad about. Seems politicians and bureaucrats are immune to prosecution under the laws they pass.

Which “IRS law” (no such thing) are you trying to say was violated?
                      Be specific…

I would advise a very healthy skepticism.
And a reminder that republicans have proven
that they just don’t give a sh*t about their own country.

      >> The Justice department tipped off the Clinton campaign regarding the email fiasco.

Justice tipped off Clinton about an FBI probe? Does that even make sense?

No matter – Clinton hardly needs “tipping off” — the supposed “email fiasco” has been massively over-reported for months.

It’s only a fiasco because conservatism is an army of angry empty suits. If you had a decent candidate, you could campaign on the issues. But you can’t do that because all the big conservative ideas have been thoroughly tried and spectacularly failed.

Unless Trump wins CO or PA in addition to every
swing state: NC, FL, OH, IA, NV, AZ, UT, plus
every state Mitt won, he’s toast, and the odds of
him winning CO and PA are slim, and behind
those two states are the “Blue Wall” states.

The day Rump wins the election is the day the USA dies. We can blame Comey all we want to but if Rump wins its because of ignorant, bigoted, fascist, evangelicals, and trailer trash. Just like Germany in the 1930s we may be headed into a situation of nightmares only it won’t be a dream it will be for real….

    • Robert M. Snyder November 2nd, 2016 at 22:52

I know several very nice families who live in mobile homes. You’re implying that people who live in trailers are trash. So who’s the bigot?

This is one of the most reliable sources for polling data, and gives Hillary a strong lead.
There is a lot of media frenzy this week, most of it foolishness, and the continuing lack of investigation into the mountain of Trump misconduct, lies, and possible criminal activity is irresponsible and disgusting.

I’m not as old as oldfart ;-) but I’ve followed a lot of elections.

Completely ignore national polls! They only mean something very early in election cycles.

Delegate-rich swing state polls are all that matter now.

Our system sucks that the flakiest states (do even Floridians deny they are flaky?) get to decide our president — but that’s the way it is.
