Four states will vote on stronger gun control

Posted by | October 31, 2016 14:31 | Filed under: Politics

While the media is freaking out over a convoluted e-mail story, nobody seems to have noticed that four states are voting on restricting guns:

[G]un control activists [are outspending] gun rights groups in an aggressive policy-shaping strategy that some have likened to the nationwide push for same-sex marriage.

Unlike past elections, there are no state initiatives to expand gun rights anywhere in the United States. The only ballot measures are designed to keep firearms away from people deemed dangerous in Maine, Nevada, California, and Washington State. Those pushing for the additional regulation hope to demonstrate Nov. 8 that there is a shift in American sentiments favoring a more restrictive approach to gun ownership.

“My guess is they will be successful, and you will see voters in different geographies and backgrounds who are willing to stand up for stronger gun laws,” Zach Silk, who is helping to lead the gun control campaign in Washington, told the Associated Press.

Remember voters, if the GOP was really pro-life they would be anti-gun, anti-war and
    pro-universal healthcare.

Here in California, it is Prop 63. I voted YES. I vote by mail-in. I recommend mail in voting to anyone living in a state that allows it. You get to research and make informed choices on the initiatives with all of your notes and news references right in front of you. It is also a great way to effectively tell the right wing polling place agitators to go pound sand..

No early voting in Virginia, and the only way to vote by mail is absentee.

“…no state initiatives to expand gun rights anywhere in the United States. ” That’s because virtually anyone can buy as many guns as they want virtually everywhere. How do you expand on that?

They can buy almost anything in red states. Not in NY or CA.

Not in IL either, but someone has only to drive 30-45 minutes into Indiana and take their pick of firearm from one of thousands of “Guns ‘n Ammo” shops across the state. And Indiana, being the retarded state, will keep electing Wayne LaPierre wannabes.
