GOP pol apologizes for sexting underage male teen

Posted by | October 13, 2016 18:04 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

This is the party of character and morality.

Republican Louisiana politician Mike Yenni is under FBI investigation after allegations arose last month that he sexted with an underage teenage boy.

Yenni, who serves as president of Jefferson Parish, released a video apologizing for his conduct, in which he says in part:

“Last summer I was old enough to know better, but I guess I was still young enough to do something stupid. I chose to send improper texts to a young man. I won’t go into details out of respect for the rights and privacy of all parties. I made a bad decision. I regret my actions. I apologize to the families involved and anyone who I embarrassed.”

    Oh boy, this could work for me if Yenni never actually, uhh, y’know, crossed the finish line with the lad, but still has to resign.
    He would join my list of Republicans who went down in flames because of sex scandals in which they did not manage to actually have the sex.
    Here’s the current list:

    * Senator Bob Packwood
    * Senator John Tower
    * Representative Mark Foley
    * Deputy Secretary of State Randall Tobias
    * Representative Jack Ryan*
    * State Senator Bob Allen
    * Senator Larry “Wide Stance” Craig
    * Representative Chris Lee
    * FoxNews honcho Roger Ailes

    * Rep. Ryan is my favorite because his sexless sex scandal did not involve anyone else but his wife.

      Wasn’t it Ryan that lost to Obama in a senate race thanks to the scandals?

      But Craig was the best.

        Even sitting down, he’s got the wide stance.

      • burqa October 13th, 2016 at 20:27

        He was fab for a while. I couldn’t type “Wide Stance” without giggling.
        But Ryan, now there’s a piece of work. I’ve forgotten all the details, but he was married to a lovely actress who was on one of those Star Trek TV shows. Her character was named “7 of 9.”
        So this dunce wanted her to go to swingers clubs and have sex with other people up on a table with people watching and nutty stuff like that. Not only did he fail to get the sex he wanted, but he lost his wife and his political career.
        Dumbass.

        so- he felt like doing a little dance waiting for a flight …

        not nearly as bad as a democrat sexting a girl (opposite gender).!

  2. Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2016 at 19:08

    Young enough to do something stupid? Isn’t this guy like 30 or 40 something? Since when is that an age you can claim that you are too immature to know better? It seems rump had lowered the bar on every person trying to push blame on something other than themselves. Last week, the right tried to claim a 60+ person was just having “good ol’ boy type of fun” and he can’t be held accountable for doing “boy stuff”. This is ridiculous.

    • Larry Schmitt October 13th, 2016 at 19:13

      In Louisiana they would be more upset that it was a boy he sexted. If it had been a girl, it’s just boys being boys.

      • Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2016 at 19:53

        Ugh, I could hurt those people.

    • whatthe46 October 13th, 2016 at 19:26

      you saw the tweet that said, and this was from a “woman,” that he has a lot of growing up to do. at 60? really? and now 70 and still doing the same thing? then you’d think she’d understand that it means he’s a mental disaster.

      • Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2016 at 19:55

        I can’t blame my screw ups on my age, I haven’t been able to do that in decades and I am a lot younger than rump. Nothing like giving the people from the party of “responsibility” a daily pass.

        • burqa October 13th, 2016 at 20:23

          Honey, I’m sure any screw-ups you may have committed are so insignificant as to be beneath comment…..

          • Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2016 at 20:27

            Oh Burqa, how I wish that were true. I can screw up better than most, I seem to like the taste of my foot. However when I say something that was off-putting to another person, I dwell on it and I try to think of better ways I could of said what I was trying to say. That is the difference, I reflect and that is something the righties seem to lack the ability to do.

            • burqa October 13th, 2016 at 20:50

              Oh now you’re teasing me with suggestive, leading straight lines. I’ll let them go.
              But see, you were well-taught and you learned to behave and you have a conscience. I am sure you carry yourself in a ladylike fashion and I’d be proud and honored to be around you and that’s all there is to it.

              • Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2016 at 20:57

                Thank you for your kind words Burqa.

      • burqa October 13th, 2016 at 20:32

        Bet he blames it on alcohol and checks into a clinic………any minute now the news will break….

      • Gary Parillo October 14th, 2016 at 01:43

        The official age of maturity for republican males is 85.So cut them some slack already!

  3. Willys41 October 13th, 2016 at 19:13

    And we forgive you. Now plead guilty.

  4. amersham1046 October 13th, 2016 at 19:22

    Young enough to do something stupid, Louisiana has giving the death penalty to a 16 year old (1997)

  5. whatthe46 October 13th, 2016 at 19:23

    delete your career! something is seriously wrong with that party. the party of pervs.

  6. arc99 October 13th, 2016 at 19:48

    Is he sorry about what he did? Or is he sorry that he got caught?

    Call me a cynic, but I think it is the latter.

    • Bunya October 14th, 2016 at 13:46

      Of course it’s the latter. Republicans don’t apologize for what they’ve done. They’re sorry that they got caught (case in point: David “Diaperman” Vitter).

    No flag pin.
    Obviously he hates America.
