Obama: ‘Straight line’ from Palin to Trump

Posted by | October 3, 2016 09:52 | Filed under: Politics

President Obama says it began with Sarah Palin.

“I see a straight line from the announcement of Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential nominee to what we see today in Donald Trump, the emergence of the Freedom Caucus, the tea party, and the shift in the center of gravity for the Republican Party,” Obama told New York Magazine.

“Whether that changes, I think, will depend in part on the outcome of this election, but it’s also going to depend on the degree of self-reflection inside the Republican Party,” he continued. “There have been at least a couple of other times that I’ve said confidently that the fever is going to have to break, but it just seems to get worse.”

“the emergence of the Freedom Caucus, the tea party, and the shift in the center of gravity for the Republican Party,”
It’s a bad case of political Ebola and with this one, there is no cure.

Any line from Palin is crooked, the way a drunk does the sobriety test.

He has come a long ways but thinking he could reason at all with the right has been his problem from the start. Ignorance, racism , being intentionally unreasonable , all feed off the other.

That’s true.He thought he could reason with them from the start, but found out how unreasonable they are.He could have, and would have achieved a lot more if he had some cooperation.Im not happy with everything he has done,or not done, but overall with all he has had to put up with,he’s done a good job.I wish he would have ended the senseless drug war,and implemented universal health care, but guess it would have been an uphill battle with all the obstructionists in the repuke party.
