DeLay: America better turn to God or it will die

Posted by | August 24, 2016 16:00 | Filed under: Politics Religion

Tom DeLay is preaching to the choir on a radio show put out by the American Family Association.

DeLay warned that the U.S. is on the brink of destruction unless “God wants it turned around” and conservative Christians begin “getting out of their churches, hitting the streets and putting God back in the public square.”

“If we don’t turn this country around, if we don’t bring God to the center of our social order, if we don’t have a revolution for the Constitution,” he warned, “America will die.”

So how would this be any different from that sharia law that they all have such a problem with? Seems to me it’s just a different imaginary boss giving orders.

The only difference between Christian Law and Shari Law is which book the Preacher is thumping on, while the Offering Plate is being Passed around.

DeLay seems to forget that this is a secular country, under a secular Constitution, and the law of the land says explicitly that this country was NOT founded on the christian religion.
    What part doesn’t he understand?

    • Larry Schmitt August 24th, 2016 at 17:11

The part that doesn’t fit his vision of a “Christian country,” which is how he and all the other radical rightists think the Constitution reads. You will never convince any of them that Washington, Jefferson, et al were not Christians.

It is a truism that almost any sect, cult,or religion, will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so.—- Robert Heinlein

All the parts he “doesnt want” to understand.

    • The Original Just Me August 25th, 2016 at 10:13

The part he doesn’t understand begins with the first word in the sentence.

As if most of them weren’t already obnoxious as it is. Where I live there’s always some local church getting in a wad over trans gender issues or sex ed at school. So what will this look like? Thousands of these people shoving bibles in our faces, what?

What does the constitution have to do with god? And when Delay refers to “god” he speaks of the white american interpretation of a god that no one knows.Separaction of church&state Delay.Go read the constitution that you babble about. We have done just fine without a god who loved to murder women&children, committed genocide, and destroyed his own world (supposedly) They have created a god in their own image and want that ugly image to be accepted as truth! Very deluded people!

    • The Original Just Me August 25th, 2016 at 10:10

They should read about the First Advocate of separation of Church and State, Mark 12-17

This from the people who rail against Sharia law.

I wonder if the word irony even exists in their vocabulary.

    • The Original Just Me August 25th, 2016 at 10:07

    FTD~!

  11. Bunya August 24th, 2016 at 21:34

Oh good! I’ve always wanted to be lectured on Christian morality by someone who’s been indicted on election fraud violations and money laundering. The only thing better would be for David “diaperman” Vitter to enlighten me on the importance of monogamy and marriage vows.

    • The Original Just Me August 25th, 2016 at 10:06

First, they need to read the Gospel of St. Matthew about what Christ thought of Street Corner Preaching.

  12. The Original Just Me August 25th, 2016 at 10:04

So, Good Old Dipstick DeLay wants Christians to take their beliefs and practices to the street. I would suppose that also includes the ” COLLECTION PLATE “.

    • Dwendt44 August 26th, 2016 at 11:25

      Money is evil.

      • The Original Just Me August 26th, 2016 at 12:18

I would rather spend my money on all of the Evil Fun stuff that it will buy. :+)
